The eastablishment of Amer Fort, Jaipur was founded by Raja Alan Singh, who was a ruler from the Chanda clan of Meenas in 967 CE. The present day AmerFort was built on the remains of the earlier structure, during the reign of Raja Man Singh. it was further expandedby Jai Singh1, who was his descended. Later years Amer Fort went through some more improvements and additions by their successors, until the Kachwahas shifted their capital to Jaipur, during the rule of Sawai Jai Singh 11, in 1727. In the 16th century, Amer royal palace was constructed as a home for the present rulers. The 16th century magnificent towers of the Amer Fort and the place were built by the Rajput Maharajas and there are very well maintained. The Amer Fort was built in red sand stone and marble, While the Moatha Lake brings additional charm to the area. The major attractions of Amer Fort are Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khass, Ganesh Pol, Jaleb Chowk, Jai Mandir, Yash Mandir, Sukh Mandir Sheesh Mahal, Suhag Mandir, Shila Devi Holy Place, Bhool Bhulaiya and Zanana Dyodhi. The Amer Fort can be reached either by an exciting elephant ride or the walk way up the hill. the views while on the elephant ride are mesmerizing, specially the ones over Moatha Lake. the light show is yet another tourist attraction at the Amer Fort, which is performed at night. A visit to the museum and garden inside the fort are amazing. From the Char Garden, one can get a view of the whole city. A dance program at the Sukh Mahal calms your soul, while a dish at the Surabhi resturant inside the fort is lip smacking. the most famous part of the place. it features thousands of convex, colored mirrors designed to reflect candlelight, making the room look like it is sleeping under a starlit sky.
